Is There Anybody Out There?
No, I'm not referring to an old Pink Floyd tune! Oh wait a minute, does anyone under 30 even know who Pink Floyd is??
This blog site has been pretty silent for quite some time now, and I think it's getting lonely! I just wanted to check in with some very simple thoughts: (1) Pray for Pastor Jon - for his time, spiritual health, physical health, and everything else you can think of. It is a total blessing for us to be under the care of a pastor who cared enough to realize and found a group called Pastors In Training; (2) thank the Lord (right now!) for your salvation, period. To think you were chosen and written in the Lamb's "book of life" before you were born, before your parents were born, before your grandparents were born, before your great-grand parents were born...before the PLANET was born (get it)! Being qualified to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light (Col. 1:12) is something that should constantly take us back, and compel us to glory in God's amazing love, mercy, and grace He has so lavishly bestowed upon us. Wow! Stop and thank God for that right now! Guys, nothing else matters next to that - no pesonal issues/problems - nothing. The same grace that passed others by, stopped and saved you! Who are you...who am I, that God should care to do this?? You have done nothing but deserve God's wrath for eternity, and here you are written in the Book of Life, and already glorified in God's eyes (Rom. 8:30)!! Are you kidding me?! We have got to step it up as men and show our gratitude to the Lord of Glory and exemplify Christ's image in all that we do. We have got to (as future pastors) be a channel for God's amazing mercy to shine through and reflect back to Him. We don't deserve any good inheritance; we don't deserve to have a bible at our fingertips to know God; we don't deserve to have a local church that teaches that Word faithfully and is full of pastors who love on us everyday at Compass! Thank you gracious Father for being the Source of every good and perfect gift in my life (James 1:17) and being that Source for every other soul in PIT. Forgive me for ever thinking I was the reason behind any good in my life. It was You, it has always been You...even when I rejected You. I love you my God!!
